"The apartment was very clean, in good condition, plenty of natural light, and a view of the East River. Anyplace staff were very responsive to my requests for additional lamps (I found the lighting to be insufficient at night) and a step stool to reach the upper kitchen cabinets. (Most of the cabinet shelves are high and difficult to reach unless you are very tall.) Unfortunately, the building is in bad shape and poorly maintained. The elevators were frequently out of service which made getting in and out of the 35 story building an ordeal. Many washing machines were often out of service and the laundry room was dirty. The building's internet service is very spotty and went down several times during my stay. The gym facilities are generally fine. Be aware, though, that the apartment is across the street from NYU Hospital so sirens are constant even late into the night. All in all, given the building's deficiencies, it is not worth the price being charged."
